Sheryl Crowley was always a kid who lived inside her imagination. She had the great fortune to grow up among a close community of artists and craftspeople. Their examples of openness, compassion and exploration became key influences that later contributed to her artistic outpouring; expressions of her inner life connected to an artist’s interpretation of the tangible and complex world around her.

In 2022 her solo exhibit – “The Stones We Carry-We Are Medusa” showed at the Saint John Arts Centre. Her work has also been shown at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Sunbury Shores Arts & Nature Centre, the George Fry Gallery, Fog Forest Gallery, Handworks Gallery, Serendipin’ Art and the Art Gallery of Alberta, among others. Her mural installations grace both the YMCA and the Imperial Theatre of Saint John.

In April of 2024 she is attending a 1-month residency in Ireland and took part in a 2022 Artist Trip to the Greek Islands. She has worked collaboratively with children in multiple School Residencies and taught both adult and youth classes. Her new collection, “Fractured Art Frippery” offers her artwork on wearable clothing.

Collectors have shared, “You captured the feels in a picture that I didn't know anyone else could understand, let alone see.” “It is beautiful. I see fear, longing, vulnerability, and courage in the (…) image. There is a simplicity in the lines and power in their boldness”. She seeks to summon an emotional transformation, bringing the viewer into a deeper compassion for our fragile, tormented species.

Sheryl is a Juried member of CraftNB as well as a past Board Member. She is a professional member of both Canadian Artists Representation Le Front Des Artistes Canadiens (CARFAC) and ArtsLinkNB
